Individual Film Noir Opening

We were asked to individually come up with an idea for our film noir opening, here's mine:

Synopsis

My story is about a hard working businessman named Jason Carter. Jason wakes up every day, makes his breakfast, goes to work, comes home and repeats. However, one day he wakes up to find that his house has been emptied while he was sleeping. Jason is confused by his lack of property and continues to go to work.

On his way to work he crosses paths with a gangster, who hands him a note. The note gives him instructions of where to get his property back. On Jason's journey he discovers many untrustworthy characters and as he gets deeper and deeper in his quest he gets deeper and deeper in trouble.

Eventually Jason comes in possession of something that the gangsters want, which leads the story into one of deception, lies and murder as he blackmails the gangsters with it. The thing they want however, isn't an item, it's a girl, Mary Blossom.

Jason falls in love with Mary which leads on to jealousy and envy for the rest of the film, until Jason finally gets what he wants in the end.

Opening Sequence

The start of my film would actually be a scene towards the end of the film. Jason would be tied up by his hands to the ceiling and gagged. A gangster would walk around him, whispering things into his ear. Jason tries to speak back but the gag prevents him, the concealed man laughs and mocks him.

A woman steps forward, her face is blacked out and the light is shined on her mouth, he says "Leave him be, for now.", Jason's eyes shut and the opening titles roll with "2 Days Previous".

Treatment/ECMS

The room where Jason is tied will be completely black, except a spot of light surrounding Jason, the reason for this is to give an enigma: "why is this man tied up here", "why can't I see anything else?". The sound in the scene would be diagetic, footsteps surrounding Jason and whispers in his hear. This furthers the enigma, "who else is there?", "what are they whispering?".

Jason will be dressed in a scruffy office shirt and no tie, he will wear office trousers with patches missing from them. Jason will also have blood on his face and on his shirt. This is to emphasis that Jason has been beaten, by somebody unknown to the audience. The lady, Mary Blossom, will be wearing a red skirt and a big belt around her waist.

A gentle ticking sound will play in the background, this is to give another enigma "what is that ticking sound?", "are they in a room with a clock?". The sound of the ticking will non-synchronous sound, which means it'll be recorded elsewhere and placed over the film using editing software.

A dutch tilt will be used to start with, just showing jasons legs. This is to immediatly place the viewer into a world of distortion and to confuse them, "what angle is the man/woman at?". The view will pan up slowly to reveal Jason being tied, to slowly tell the viewer what is going on without speech. The color will not be in black and white, but will be in cold, dark, unearthly colors to represent the dull/depressive situation that Jason is in.
